Tony Abbott: Zen Political Master

Tony Abbott and Julia Gillard have always had a bit of a love/hate relationship. He hates her for being a woman, she loves him for being such an unelectable tosser that if he ever does get to be leader, he'll keep the Labor Parteh in power for about the next sixty years.

But Tony is also the master of the political Zen koans; statements that often appear to be paradoxical or linguistically meaningless dialogues or questions. But to Zen Buddhists (or in this case, Liberal politicians) the koan is "the place and the time and the event where truth reveals itself" unobstructed by the oppositions and differentiations of language. So his recent statements about Julia Gillard make total sense. In a paradoxical and linguistically meaningless way. Unobstructed by anything remotely resembling sense.
