Regrets, they've had a few...

According to Malcolm, the "Liberal backstabbers" (aka "anonymous smartarses") are having regrets:

And now, Malcolm's end is here
And so he faces the final curtain
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain
I've spread all sorts of rumours
That Malcolm's completely, utterly useless,
And more, much more than this, he could have tumours...

Regrets, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do and saw it through without exemption
I planned each dastardly leak, each careful step get the numbers
While Malcolm, in his mansion, he did slumber

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When we bit off more than we could chew (*cough*utegate*cough)
But through it all, we couldn't get a bounce for love or money
I read them all, opinion polls, and spat the dummy
I faced it all and I stood tall and did it my way

I've loved, I've laughed and cried
I've had my fill, my share of losing elections
And now, as tears subside, I think of them with some affection
To think I did all that
And may I say, not in a shy way,"Oh, no, oh, no, not me, I did it my way"

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not his safe seat, then he has naught
To say the things that are not strange
and not the words of one who negotiates with Wong on climate change
The record shows I dealt the blows and did it my way!

[instrumental] Yes, it was my way
